Jeroen van Merrienboer is full professor of Learning and Instruction and Research Director of the School of Health Profession Education (SHE). He has been trained as an experimental psychologist at the VU University Amsterdam and received a PhD in Educational Sciences from the University of Twente. His main area of expertise is learning and instruction, in particular instructional design and the use of new media in innovative learning environments. He published more than 200 articles and has a Hirsch-index of 50.
